CSS provides services to adults who are diagnosed with hearing loss or deafness, in addition to other disabilities, in their own homes. In addition to providing the same services we provide to our other waiver clients, we employ an in-office certified ASL Interpreter, as well as a number of direct care staff who are fluent in American Sign Language. We employ both hearing and deaf staff, and are knowledgeable of, and sensitive to deaf culture. Our interpreter is utilized for many interpreting assignments, including: staff trainings and local office planned social activities, and is available to assist the individuals we serve with communicating effectively with any of our office staff. CSS also arranges for the individuals we serve to receive annual tax services through AARP at no cost to them, and provides interpreting services during these appointments.
